April 24, 2008 - PRLog -- May 13th has been set as the official release date for New York native JASON YUDOFF’s sophomore album Tragic Hero (Scratched Vinyl).  Hero features rollicking piano jams, smooth grooves and emotional songs of longing, incompleteness and self-discovery.  From behind his keyboard, YUDOFF has crafted a confessional album that makes the listener contemplate relationships while simultaneously getting up and dancing.

Keyboard Magazine said: "Rock' n' roll piano is very much alive in the capable hands of New York's Jason Yudoff…From the Grand Funk-ish opening cuts to the Journey-esque love songs, Jason shows a remarkably consistent concept of songwriting, singing, performance, and 'tude."

For Tragic Hero YUDOFF worked with Ron Thaler (producer) and Scott Hull (masterer, Steely Dan, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen) to combine aspects of 2004’s Smoke, Sex, Water (which made it to the preliminary Grammy ballot in 2005) and 2006’s LIVE at the Cutting Room into an album that captures the electricity of his live show and introspective songwriting. Discussing why he chose to name his album Tragic Hero YUDOFF says: “The flawed hero is the central character in a lot of classic literature, and like a lot of authors, I write from a personal place.  I am usually the protagonist in my songs, just as we are all the main characters in our own life stories.”

YUDOFF is a featured artist on Woozyfly.com.  The musician has performed two live sets –one solo and one with his band, The New Hotness - at the Woozyfly studios; the sessions can be viewed here: www.woozyfly.com/JasonYudoff.  To fully experience YUDOFF’s Billy Joel storytelling-meets-Jamiroquai-funk, it is crucial to experience his live electric show.  YUDOFF has recently added a full horn section to give his live show a new, urgent and exciting depth.
