By: Brian Van Norman/WCPE Mike Gauss 919-232-5008 mike@articulon.com TheClassicalStation.org Honors Passover WCPE offers special programming for Feast of Seder WAKE FOREST, N.C.—WCPE’ “It is a solemn and joyful celebration of God’s mercy in sparing the Jews from the plagues sent upon the Egyptians,” says Hoover. “WCPE’s observance is full of traditional songs and classical masterpieces set in motion by this very special holiday.” TheClassicalStation.org has a long history of observing the Jewish High Holy Days. It goes back to the late Andrea Rosnick who shared her faith and love of Jewish tradition with listeners for many years. Listener response from many corners of the world has been positive and enthusiastic. The programs are broadcast each year at 6 p.m. ET on the eve of each specific Holy Day. Passover is the Jewish holiday celebrated not in the Synagogue or Temple, but in the home around a meal with meaningful traditions. It is a seven-day holiday that reflects the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. The first and last days are celebrated as a full festival that includes absenteeism from work, special prayer services and holiday meals. The Great Classical Music offered by WCPE transcends belief systems. Reflective of the world's diversity, the music is crafted from all traditions and is listened to by a global audience. Found throughout WCPE’s programming are the traditions of people from all walks of life. WCPE can be heard worldwide, 24/7, via the Web in multiple streaming formats, including the next generation IPv6.
