April 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Saratoga Springs, Utah – Your exercise and road trips don’t have to be restricted to music from your MP3 player any more.  StoriesThatLift (www.StoriesThatLift.com) provides free audio short stories for children, teens, and post-teens of all ages.

There are written stories and audio stories selected to lift and entertain in a family, child-safe setting.  Many of the stories include creative voices, sound effects, and music professionally produced by Jamie Moore, an actor with a long list of credits, specifically for StoriesThatLift.

Stories are available free.  Read or listen to them directly from the web, download them for reading or listening at your convenience, or subscribe to a podcast so stories will be automatically sent to you.

Established and new writers from New York to California and Canada to Australia receive a small payment for their story; in return they grant StoriesThatLift permission to use their story.  Tom Quigley, owner of StoriesThatLift, says, “The authors have written stories that hold your attention, but the transformation of words into audio is like reliving the contrast between radio and television.  Professionally produced stories set this website apart from other free story sites.”

Jamie Moore, the primary storyteller on StoriesThatLift, says, “My goal is to bring each story to life.  I strive to create an auditory environment that is filled with vividly colorful imagery and delight through a mix of music, character voices and sound effects.”  Early feedback on Jamie’s storytelling includes:

“Jamie's voice is actually a perfect fit, I think. It's soft and confident and friendly...engaging might be an apt description.”

“I listened to the story just now. It sounds fantastic… "Cecil," Jamie Moore, is just fantastic.”

Many of the stories are accompanied by art images.  Adam Murray, StoriesThatLift’s artist, says, “I really enjoy illustrating these great little stories.  It’s very rewarding to be part of such a collaboration of talent.”

Tom Quigley, founder of Potential Heights LLC that owns and operates StoriesThatLift, uses a business model that he hopes will make the site self sustaining.  He plans to publish books and audio cd’s of the best stories and sale them as gifts on the site and in bookstores.  He intends to publish the first books and cd’s from the children’s stories, but eventually he plans to publish books and cd’s for teens and post-teens of all ages.  He also uses online advertising to help offset business expenses.  Quigley says, “I am committed to provide free audio stories in a child-safe form and I encourage everyone to seek out short stories that lift and entertain.”
