March 26, 2008 - PRLog -- From Sue Swoboda and Michael Swoboda, Jr.:

“We continue to be encouraged with the recovery Mike has made in such a short time and are thrilled he was able to come home today. We believe having him in familiar surroundings will help his continuous improvement as he still has months of outpatient therapies ahead. As a family, we have been humbled by the amazing amount of support and love from friends, family, acquaintances, strangers, and the wonderful staff at the St. John's Mercy facilities."

Mayor Swoboda moved from St. John’s Mercy Medical Center to the St. John’s Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital on February 27. He was treated at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center where he was upgraded from critical condition to serious on February 15 and from serious to satisfactory condition on February 23.

The family again expresses their appreciation for the thousands of well wishes from throughout Kirkwood and beyond. The family requests privacy at this time.
