Follow on Google News | Seattle Priestess Receives Iyanla Vanzant Award for Transformative SpiritualityIyanifa Onifa Karade of Seattle,WA was awarded the first Iyanla Vanzant Award for Transformative Spirituality in Los Angeles CA in honor of her efforts in the fields of African Spirituality and Cultural Preservation of African Traditional Religions
It is my pleasure to announce the first recipient of the Iyanla Vanzant award for Transformative Spirituality, presented by the World Pride and Power Organization this past Saturday, February 23rd is our very own Iyanifa Onifa Adeola Karade, co founder The Forces of Nature Metaphysical and Spiritual Center, Ile LaiLai, as well as foundress of The Institute of Africana Cosmology. Iyanifa Onifa's work in organizing opportunities for spiritual change and upliftment started over 20 years ago and continues to this day. From offering affordable access to African centered spiritual support and healing to educating the community about the spiritual paths of Africa and the African Diaspora, Iyanifa Onifa has worked to restore the consciousness of our collective Ancestral legacies within the communities in which she lives. For many people their first exposure to Haitian Vodou, Kemetic Spirituality, African American Hoodoo and the Orisha Traditions came through one of the many Shrines that she'd created in honor of Black History Month, one of the Community Ancestral Feasts that she's opened her home to share with the community every Fall, or one of her articles or radio shows archived and streamed on the internet over 100 times in the past 2 years. Just last year she created a online Africana Spiritual Celebration where anyone around the world could preregister for a free 16 day exploration of various African Spiritual Paths. This was offered all online and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She is known around the Seattle area and the world for working with people of all backgrounds, colors, genders, races, ages and faiths who desire to learn in a mutually respectful environment and for being a resource for several faith based institutions and for law enforcement agencies in need of an expert in Africana faiths and religions. We'd like to thank the World Pride and Power organization for their recognition of Iyanifa Onifa's work and contributions to the community and to congratulate Iyanifa upon the receipt of her award.
