Hollyshorts 2008 To Open With Josh Brolin’s Acclaimed Short Film “x”
Festival Kicks Off With the Short’s Hollywood Premiere at Egyptian Theatre in Conjunction with the American Cinematheque HollyShorts Film Festival Takes Place August 7-10, 2008 with Weekend Screenings at Laemmle’s Sunset 5
HollyShorts also announced today the festival’s weekend screenings (August 9-10) will take place at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 theatre in Hollywood . The announcements were made today by festival co-organizers/

This year’s event will include can’t miss networking forums, receptions and panels with some of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry today. We look forward to presenting a great slate of high quality short form content and continue creating platforms for filmmakers to advance their careers to the next level.”
“I’m honored that Hollyshorts has chosen my directorial debut film X to open their 4th annual festival,” said Brolin. “I’m proud of the stark nature of this film, how it explores the parent/child relationship and appreciate the support of those willing to embrace my journey into filmmaking. We’re excited to show the film and be apart of this event.”

HollyShorts opening night will also feature a lineup of several additional highly acclaimed short film projects from around the world, Q&A’s and a star-studded reception. The full schedule of films for the HollyShorts opening night event will be announced late June and the complete 4th annual HollyShorts Film Festival lineup will be announced the first week of July. The American Cinematheque will be selling tickets to the event on www.fandango.com, tickets will go on sale early July.
