Chicago’s Emerging Leaders Celebrate 25 Years Of Community Service

MetroBoard Celebrates Professional Success with Weekend Events

March 21, 2008 - PRLog -- The Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League celebrates it 25th anniversary with a series of events being held April 11-13 at various locations in Chicago. The Metropolitan Board (MetroBoard), an auxiliary of the Chicago Urban League, marks a quarter century of dedicated service to the community and the personal and professional development of its members with events that feature great music, entertainment, networking, and nostalgia—celebrating the founders and mission of the organization.

The MetroBoard kicks off its 25th anniversary celebration weekend on Friday, April 11, 2008 with an exclusive networking party in Chicago’s West Loop at Victor Hotel. The event will attract Chicago’s elite young professionals to mix and mingle to jumpstart the celebratory series.

Saturday, April 12th offers an evening of phenomenal entertainment. Bombay Sapphire and MetroBoard will host the 25th Anniversary celebration benefit concert entitled the “Silver Soul Session” with music notables Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry), Chico DeBarge, DJ Frances Jaye, Corey Wilkes and Black Slang.

The weekend culminates on Sunday, April 13th with the Presidents’ Brunch celebrating finance magnate John Rogers, visionary of Metropolitan Board and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Ariel Capital Management.  The organization will also honor James Compton, former President and CEO of the Chicago Urban League and Executive Vice President of Marketing at Continental Airlines.
