Chicago Attracts R&B/Soul Music Notables For A Night Of Celebration

Bombay Sapphire hosts Benefit Concert with R&B/Soul Notables

March 21, 2008 - PRLog -- The Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League celebrates its 25th anniversary this April with networking, philanthropy, and entertainment. Bombay Sapphire and the MetroBoard will host Chico Debarge, Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry), Corey Wilkes with Black Slang, and acclaimed disk jockey Frances Jaye of NeoSoulCafé.com. The benefit concert will be held at Chicago’s Park West Theater, located at 332 W. Armitage Avenue. Doors open at 7:00 PM for the VIP celebration and 8:00 PM for the concert.

Bombay Sapphire & the MetroBoard’s benefit concert entitled the “Silver Soul Session” is one of three events designed to celebrate Chicago’s young urban professional movement. The MetroBoard is a service-based organization dedicated to the outreach of the underserved community. The organization was founded 25 years ago by John Rogers, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Ariel Capital Management.

The 25th Anniversary celebration begins on Friday, April 11th with a kickoff-networking event at Victor Hotel located at 311 N. Sangamon Street. Bombay Sapphire and MetroBoard will then host the benefit concert at Park West Theatre, and finally an honorary Presidents’ Brunch at Chicago’s historic Art Institute celebrating MetroBoard founder, John Rogers and James Compton, former President and CEO of The Chicago Urban League.
