GeoSIM Global SIM Card Introduces Mobile Top Ups By SMS With “Text2TopUp” Service
Customers of GeoSIM, the specialist international SIM card supplier, can now top up their call credit accounts anywhere in the world by sending a text message.
The “Pay as You Go” SIM can now be topped up without having to visit the GeoSIM website meaning customers can top up their accounts from their handset wherever they may be when they start to run short on call credit.
Ed Neal, managing director of Geodesa limited which distributes GeoSIM, says “many of our customers travel extensively and do not always have time to top up their account or have access to the internet when their credit gets low. Our unique Text2TopUp service means busy or forgetful customers now have the added advantage of being able to top up their account from the beach, boat, airport, cruise ship or in the street simply by sending a SMS to the secure GeoSIM system.”
Ed goes on to say that “the GeoSIM system already sends a text message after each call made, advising the cost of the previous call and the remaining balance on the customer’s account allowing users to monitor their account balance on their handset. The Text2TopUp system complements the existing call cost advisory SMS perfectly. Text2TopUp puts customers firmly in control of topping up their SIM unlike “auto top up” systems which automatically debit your credit card when a predetermined credit balance is reached.”
Text2TopUp works simply, quickly and securely. The user first sends a text message to GeoSIMs SMS gateway with the key phrase “top up” followed by the amount they wish to top up by. Provided the user is registered for Text2TopUp, the system responds by SMS asking a security question or for a PIN. This allows the user to be verified and confirm the top up request. If everything is in order, the Text2TopUp system applies the call credit and debits the users credit card all within about a minute. For example, “Top up 40” would add £40 call credit to a users account or by just sending “Top up” adds £20.
The service is free and available to GeoSIM customers who have registered to use Text2TopUp on their GeoSIM account.
