Book Discussion for Parents of Children with ADD, ADHD, and Lead Poisoning

Author Deborah Merlin joins bluedominoes.com to spread the word on lead poisoning and its association with ADD and ADHD

March 15, 2008 - PRLog -- Having twin boys both diagnosed with ADHD, with one twin suspected of also possibly having autism; Deborah Merlin set out to help her children overcome the limitations of their diagnosis.  Deborah enrolled her children in traditional therapies and saw improvements; but when she discovered they also had elevated blood lead levels, she began nutritional changes that made huge impacts in their progress.

“We completely changed our diets.  I prepared nutritious foods and threw away anything with artificial food coloring” says Deborah Merlin.  “We also began chelation and used natural supplements like vitamin C to support their bodies.  After reading the connection bluedominoes made between artificial food coloring and heavy metals, I now understand why my sons reacted as they did.”  The years of dedication and persistence paid off, both boys are currently in their freshman year of college.  Deborah documents their journey in her book Victory over ADHD:  How a mother’s journey to natural medicine reversed her children’s severe emotional, mental, and behavioral problems.

“Reading Deborah’s story struck a cord with me since my son suffered from lead poisoning.” states bluedominoes co-founder Debbie Lindgren.  “It is so important that parents whose children are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD get screened for lead.  The CDC states that blood lead levels may not accurately assess overall lead levels in individuals with high or chronic past exposure.  These children will store lead in their bones and may have normal levels of lead present in their blood.”

To encourage others to read more and share information regarding ADD and lead poisoning, Deborah Merlin and bluedominoes, inc. have teamed to form a book discussion forum for Victory over ADHD at bluedominoes.com. As an incentive, twelve registered members of bluedominoes’ will receive a complementary book and consultation with Deborah Merlin.  In addition, everyone who visits bluedominoes.com will have access to the newly compiled lead resource page that provides studies that link lead poisoning to ADHD along with sources of lead exposure, checking for lead in your home, lead free products and much more.  To visit the discussion or the lead pages, go to http://www.bluedominoes.com/stories.php.
