Created in 1985 by the Sisters of Mercy, the Mukuru Promotion Centre provides children living in the Mukuru community with much needed education, health care, daily food and housing.  In 11 years, the organization has grown to educate and provide food for more than 4,000 children each day;  provides a residential home for street boys and orphaned children; includes a curative clinic offering free medical care as well as offers home-based care for terminally ill and AIDS/TB patients.
