Feb. 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Cage Wars Productions is delighted to announce the exciting fight cards for its forthcoming MAX Xtreme Fighting events in Belfast and Glasgow in March – with the legendary Dan Severn topping the bill.

The events are the second time Cage Wars Productions has taken its shows to both Northern Ireland and Scotland as it looks to build on the growing global reputation of MMA as the world’s most dramatic sport.

As well as bringing the sport to thousands of people who haven’t witnessed it before, the fightcards for the events has also thrown up a number of mouth-watering match-ups for MAX Xtreme enthusiasts.

Top of the bill in Belfast sees UFC hall of famer Dan Severn fight in Northern Ireland for the first time against homegrown favourite Colin “Big C” Robinson. For many fans it will be the first time they have been able to see “The Beast” in the flesh and, even at 49 years of age, he is certain to be a crowd puller.

The two-time UFC heavyweight champion said: “I am looking forward to visiting Northern Ireland and I hope to show the Irish fans why I am known as “The Beast”. I know the fans will get to see an exciting match in the world famous Kings Hall.”
Robinson, who is Northern Ireland’s best known UFC fighter, said: “Anyone in the mixed martial arts sporting world knows who Dan Severn is. He is a tough competitor. I saw Dan on all the early UFC shows and I have the greatest respect for him. This will be an incredible fight for all the fans and for Irish MMA. There will definitely be fireworks on March 9th.”
The Belfast bill also sees Chris Stringer, the former European lightweight amateur shooto champion take on current Cage Masters light weight champion Tim Estes while hot prospects Lee McKibben and James Head do battle.
The headline fight in Glasgow sees undefeated Spaniard Daniel “The Gladiator” Tebrera take on “Electifying” Ken Sparks in a hotly anticipated bout, while local interest will be centred on the grudge match with Andy Hillhouse and Morris Gormley.

Jonny Burrows, spokesman for Cage Wars Productions, said: “We have worked hard to deliver fightcards that will capture the imagination of MAX Xtreme fans while also giving newcomers to the sport a great taste of what it is all about. The bills are a great mix of international talent and young local fighters and we are delighted to be able to put on a show with so many outstanding match-ups.

“It will be magnificent for the crowd to be able to see one the legends , Dan Severn, in action and it will also be great boost for some of the younger fighters, who grew up watching him fight, to be on the same bill.
“While these events are still something of a rarity in Scotland and Northern Ireland, the appetite is definitely there from a spectator point of view and we look forward to continuing to promote the sport in this part of the world.”

Both events will be filmed and broadcast on the FIGHT network at a later date

Tickets for both events are priced between £25-£55 and available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.ie  Fightcards may be subject to change due to injury or other exceptional circumstances.
