Gordon College Increases Visibility Of Home School Application Process

New homeschool section of website offers more transparent information on the home school application process, including requirement and suggested curriculum.
 
Feb. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- Wenham, MA -- Gordon college, http://www.gordon.edu , a nondenominational Christian college in Wenham, MA, announced the addition of a home school page on their website, making it easier for home schooled students to access information regarding requirements and suggested curriculum before applying to Gordon College.

Cyndi McMahon, Office of College Communications, says “Gordon is a home school friendly college that welcomes students from home school experiences”. About 5% of Gordon's current student population were home schooled their senior year, or at some other point in their education. “Gordon’s environment, along with challenging academics, has proven to be a natural fit for many home schooled students transitioning into college”, continued McMahon.

Requirements for home school students include the SAT or ACT test, an academic reference, a personal reference, a transcript, lists of texts or readings, and a report on experiential learning (field trips, special projects, etc.), although a diploma or GED is not required.
