Feb. 10, 2008 - PRLog -- The Information Technology Industry Development Agency’s CEO Dr. Hazem Abdelazim will head the delegation to the event organized by NASSCOM, the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT-ITES industries in India. NASSCOM is a global trade body with more than 1200 members, of which over 250 are global companies from across US, UK, EU and APAC.
Appreciating the importance of the event, one of the most respected around the world, the Egyptian participation will emphasize the keenness of Egypt to partner with India in the field of IT services, namely Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and other related areas. Egypt will host a CEO dinner that will be attended by a large number of CEOs representing international and Indian firms.
The event will provide the Egyptian delegation with an exceptional opportunity to gain an overview of the global IT-BPO market and network directly with Multi-national companies and large IT/BPO Indian corporations. Dr. Hazem Abdelazim says that “Egypt is looking up to India and wishes to follow suit of a huge power in the ITES industry. We go to Mumbai with a mission; we need to learn from the masters of the craft and we will offer them an open hand”
The Indian Leadership Forum will also enable Egyptian IT industry prominent figures to pinpoint the competitiveness of Egypt in the outsourcing arena and highlight how geographical location and skillful talent pool can play well in the partnership with India. Selected delegates will play the role of “Egyptian IT ambassadors” and will be stressing the benefits of cooperating with India, the largest BPO provider in the world.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliate, ITIDA, are heavily engaged in supporting Egyptian IT companies through a declared strategy tailored to increase IT/ITES exports and enhance the capacity of these companies. The strategy pays special attention to training, attracting international ICT companies, and increasing the presence of Egyptian companies in prestigious fairs and events like the Indian Leadership Forum.
Egypt hosts various international companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Valeo, IBM, Satyam, Wipro, SQS, Teleperformance, Orange France Telecom, Vodafone, and HSBC. Choosing Egypt as an offshoring location stems from unique privileges bestowed on the country. A.T. Kearney consultancy firm puts Egypt in the 13th position on its Global Services Location Index 2007, while the Yankee Group issued a report in May 2007 predicting that Egypt would be the India of the Middle East provided that the country stays the current course.
