Mazuma Hunt introduces “Virtual” Online Treasure Hunts

Over-achievers who love puzzles, brainteasers, and mind games are now winning money from the seat of their pants

Jan. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- Mazuma Hunt, the producers of America’s most popular treasure hunts, has introduced a new game for intellectuals looking for a challenge. Anyone who enjoys testing his or her mental prowess against the world’s best puzzle solvers will want to take look at the new Virtual Hunts at http://www.MazumaHunt.com.

In the original games, Mazuma Hunt buried $50 bills all over North America. Decode the clues to discover where the mazuma is buried and you make a quick $50. Then follow the instructions in the treasure box and get another $50.

The first Hunter to recover the mazuma emails the serial number on the fifty-dollar bill to the email address in the container, and Mazuma Hunt credits his or her account with an additional $50.

In the new Virtual Hunts there is no physical treasure to recover. This means that anyone can compete - from anywhere in the world. The best of the best come to Mazuma Hunt to win.

“As an avid puzzler, I find the Mazuma Hunts to be nice challenges that provide a balance between puzzle solving, trivia and geotracking.  I like the fact that the hunt clues are released over a relatively short ten-week time frame at predefined times --- it helps to fit the hunts into my busy schedule.  The addition of virtual hunts should open the game up to a much wider audience.  I welcome the competition!” says Molnar, a Top Hunter.

In the new Virtual Hunts there is a Master Quarry that the Hunters must identify by solving a series of twenty “clues”. These clues include a wide range of challenges, such as hardcore sudoku puzzles, complex mathematical series, and cryptographs. Mazuma Hunters need a wide range of puzzle-solving skills to win.

The victorious Hunter must not only identify the Master Quarry, but must also solve the five or six Key Clues. In fact, until all Key Clues are solved the Loyal Hunter cannot attempt to identify the Master Quarry.

“Armchair treasure hunts can be very fun and exciting - the most fun when they periodically release clues like the Mazuma does.” says AwesomeM45, another Top Hunter. “It’s exciting, waiting for the next clues every few days.”

The best part of the Hunts is that they are totally free. Mazuma Hunt hopes to continue to make the Hunts free, relying on donations and website advertisements to generate sufficient revenues to continue the Hunts.

“We love puzzles, and we really love creating devious challenges to test the best of the best”, says Steve Krieger, Executive Director of Mazuma Hunts. “Its incredible how often we think we have a monster puzzle, only to have it solved in a matter of hours. It’s a little frustrating sometimes!”

Anyone who enjoys a wide range of problem solving will find a home at http://www.MazumaHunt.com.
