comBATON Tournament of Games Scoreboard Report for Hollywood, Fl

The level of competition was ratcheted up several notches at the first Hollywood comBATON Tournament of Games. Competition was fierce and everyone had a good time. The scoreboard report includes several surprise victories.
 
Jan. 19, 2008 - PRLog -- The Hollywood, Fl comBATON Tournament of Games Scoreboard report was released today and includes several surprise victories. The host school, DeJesus Taekwondo of Pembroke Pines, Fl invited Lionheart Martial Arts of Hialeah Gardens, Fl to participate in two demonstration games. Astonishingly, the Lionhearts, newcomers to the game, topped the experienced Tigers 7 to 3.  The Tigers, coached by Master DeJesus, regrouped  and defeated the Lionhearts, coached by Daniel Osorio, 6 to 3.
Game 1 - Demo - 5 to 7 year olds

Game 2 - Demo - 5 to 8 year olds

Regis Lima Martial Arts routed the Tigers in the next game defeating the Tigers 13 to 0. Joelian Mislay proved to be an invaluable asset to the Spartans. Joelian, a former player with the Spring Hill Ninja, put his comBATON experience to good use.
Game 3 - 11 to 13 year olds

The DeJesus Tigers competed within their school in the 9-10 year old division. This proved to provide valuable experience with the 10 year olds overwhelming the 9 year olds with a final score of 10-3.
Game 4 - 9 to 10 year olds
Tigers  8 (DeJesus Team, 10 year olds)
Tigers  3 (DeJesus Team, 9 year olds)

The Samurai of Lake Mary  dominated the Ninja of  Spring Hill in the 5th game of the day.  As the first comBATON teams, they brought a wealth of experience to the field.
Game 5 - 14 to 16 year olds
Samurai  16 (Turnbull Team)
Ninja 7 (Schneider Team)

The girls teams proved to be very competitive but the Tigers overpowered the Spartans 29-12.
Game 6 - 14 to 16 year olds, Female
Tigers  29 (DeJesus Team)
Spartans  12 (Lima Team)

Reaping the fruits of their years of comBATON experience, the adult Samurai blasted the Spartans 10-0.
Game 7 - 17 years old and over, Male
Samurai  10 (Turnbull Team)
Spartans  0 (Lima Team)

Once again, experience won out over capable opponents with the Tigers Womens team overpowering the Spartans 6-0.
Game 8 - 17 years old and over, Female
Tigers  6 (DeJesus Team)
Spartans  0 (Lima Team)

In the young  mens division, the Ninja scored 12 to the Tigers 4.
Game 9 - 17 years old and over, Male
Ninja  12 (Schneider Team)
Tigers 4 (DeJesus Team)

In the final game of the day, the Samurai continued to dominate the comBATON field and ended the tournament undefeated.

The hardest part now is waiting for the second Tournament of Games in the series.

comBATON is The Martial Arts Team Sport. All players are martial artists and most are black belts. comBATON provides players in a traditionally individual sport the opporunity to work together as a team. Typically, comBATON teams are an adjunct to formal martial arts training at traditional schools. Various schools compete in Tournaments of Games with each game lasting 15 minutes. Players must be in good cardiovascular shape the action is constant and unrelenting. Bring on the games!
