Judy's Music School of Mississauga first in GTA to offer Music Therapy to combat stress & depression
Venting stress through music instruction already quite popular in New York and Los Angeles
"With as many as 7 out of 10 Canadians admitting they are either stressed or depressed, I'm convinced music lessons can
provide relief for most people" remarked Ms. Young
Indeed, one local executive who already enrolled confirm that after just three lessons, "Playing music helps me unwind and worry less" claims Bruce G. of Port Credit who now is recommending that his entire executive staff take just one music lesson per week. "I don't know how or why this works, but it helps me blow off steam and feel refreshed". And for $20 this is a lot cheaper than medication or my fitness center fees" added Bruce.
Judy's Music School which was recently named as one of the ten best Music Schools in Ontario by the Ontario Music Society is the first and only school to offer therapeutic music lessons within the GTA. Ms. Young got the idea after seeing the huge popularity of Music Therapy on recent trips to Los Angeles, and New York. "With talk of an impending recession, I think the stress levels in Toronto will only be growing, so the availability of these programs should be a big plus for the community. Besides, playing music is a whole lot more fun than working out in a crowded, sweaty, gym where you have to wait forever for a turn to use an exercise machine" Judy explained.
Judy's Music School which is located in Mississauga (very close to Etobicoke) is staffed by 12 multi-lingual instructors and is open 7 days per week. But appointments are required. Lessons on the piano, guitar, flute, violin, cello, saxophone, and clarinet are available as well as voice and music theory lessons as well.
