Legacy Associates Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing programs that exemplify academic achievement, economic empowerment and community service for children and young adults of all ethnic backgrounds. Legacy Associates Foundation has built a force of leadership and support throughout the Metropolitan Detroit area.  Established in 1997, fourteen African-American men gathered to discuss a common bond and vision for success.  As Detroit natives, many had grown up together as close friends, sharing similar life experiences and finding success only after overcoming many obstacles. Since 2002, the organization has grown its membership to thirty-one members in total. Whether serving as professionals, business executives, or community leaders, each of the current members have become an established example of dedicated service and integrity.

The Human Touch award has been given to various highly respected men in the metropolitan Detroit community for their relentless philanthropy to the community.  Such recipients have been:  the Rev. Charles Morton of Metropolitan Baptist Church; Rev. Wendell Anthony of Fellowship Chapel Church; William Smith of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Rev. Dr. Charles G. Adams of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church; Wayne County Commissioner, Bernard Parker; and, Winston O’Neal of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. to name just a few.

Scholarships in the names of triumphant chapter members, Ione Hartley Gibson, Barbara J. Warren and Mary Constance Russell will also be awarded.
