New Environmental Invention Will Save Money, Water, Gas And Unwanted Emissions!

A new device to save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by fitting it onto combination boilers has been invented by a Sheffield engineer.

Jan. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- Invented by Andy Tomlinson of Wincobank, it is a cost-effective and innovative design that saves on the use of both water and energy. By fixing the thermostatic valve to the boiler pipe, it controls the water that emerges, thus saving on the wastage that occurs while waiting for it to get hot.

Andy, a gas fitter and heating engineer who has been using a prototype of the energy efficient device in his own home for the past year, says it “works wonderfully” and it has already saved him “untold quantities” of water, gas and reduced CO2 emissions. “I sat down and calculated that if I use just the kitchen sink three times a day all year round, my handy little implement will save 10 cubic metres of water and 52 cubic metres of gas,” says the 49-year-old.

The invention is a result of years of “tinkering” around to help stop the unnecessary waste of water and gas that Andy experienced on a daily basis at home and at work. He fitted his first successful attempt – cobbled together from spare parts in his garage – at home to experiment with its usefulness. Satisfied with the result, he decided to patent the product.

Andy is being guided through the patents and trademarks minefield by local experts Inventor-Net, which is backed by Atkinson & Company and Fixed Fee IP. Ralph Atkinson, director of Atkinson & Company and brainchild of both the Inventor-Net.com and Fixed Fee IP concepts, said: “This is exactly the sort of idea we are helping to try and achieve commercial fruition. When tradesmen that have been in the industry many years come up with a time-saving, money-saving solution, they often know what they’re talking about. What they have lacked in the past is the ability to get their ideas to market at a realistic price, which is where Inventor-Net.com comes in.”

Andy is now planning to go into wholesale production, and has already had talks with local manufacturers. “I’ve ordered parts for the valve from China, which is now waiting to go through customs. As soon as that arrives, I can get down to business.

The potential market for this is huge. There were about two million new combination boilers fitted in the UK alone last year, so it’s a growing market as well,” adds Andy. “And of course in principal it can be fitted almost anywhere in the word; I’ll settle for the UK market for now though!”

Anyone with an idea who needs free advice on inventions, patents and trademarks, should call Eileen Ellis on 0870 850 0043 to arrange their free, totally confidential consultation with the experts at Inventor-Net. For further information, visit www.inventor-net.com
Inventor-Net Confidential has arranged the following dates in Sheffield, for those who have a great idea or just want to know more: Wednesday 16 January 2008.

Events are now becoming heavily oversubscribed so inventors are encouraged to book in as early as possible.
