SKYMARINE-RoutePlanner has passed the first performance test
Navigate with the new SKYMARINE-RoutePlanner on high resolution electronic nautical charts. Calculates the weather forecast, state of the sea, wave height etc. for each waypoint. User can watch the weather dynamics in the WeatherPlayer.
SKYMARINE is a new web-based service for watersport fans. Before starting the trip or tour they can exactly plan the route. With SKYMARINE the users navigate on electronic nautical charts with high resolution detail charts. SKYMARINE RouteWeather calculates the weather forecast for each single waypoint and displays the expected state of the sea. Easily comprehensible weather symbols show the wave height and wave direction. Just like in a movie you can track the weather dynamics of the next days with the RouteWeatherPlayer. Thanks to the connection to Google Maps it is furthermore possible to request satellite images of the region. The SKYMARINE–services are currently offered free-of-charge for the Mediterranean Coast from Spain to Croatia, including the Balearic Islands, Island of Elba, Corsica and Sardinia. The development team is now working on the possibility to offer the services worldwide. Although there are substantial calculations behind the extensive services, the website convinces by its simple and user-friendly user interface and functions.
The positive response and the numerous registrations prove that the SKYMARINE-services meet the requirements of watersport fans. „This shows us that we are on the right track and encourages us to extend our range of products.“says Richard Becker, founder and owner of SKYMARINE, in a first interim statement.
The customers may look forward to the next development stages of the SKYMARINE–services. In the next development steps there will be more detailed nautical charts and more extensive weather services available. Furthermore, the saving and printing of the planned trip will be enabled. The users are updated and informed about optimizations in the newsroom of the webpage or in regular newsletters.
