Dec. 8, 2007 - PRLog -- Independent musician Michael Wood (Woody) has recently released a tell all book on the music industry so to speak. "You've Got A Friend In The Biz" is being published by US publisher Author House and distributed throughout North America and the UK by the world's largest distributor, Ingram Books.

The book is a simple, down to earth guide through the music industry. "Never has there been such a time of change and need for the artist to be educated on the business of music like we are experiencing now in 2007-2008" said Wood. Some thoughts, some ideas and some good old fashioned story telling is found throughout the guide including meeting with industry legends Casey Kasem, Slash and Gilby Clarke in Los Angeles. The book also chronicles Mr. Wood's life touring North America with US signed band "Circuit", performing with the likes of Kansas, Buckcherry, Everclear, having music throughout MTV productions, to now voting on the Grammy Awards as a member of the Recording Academy.

"A lot of people have always come up to me asking how did you do it? I don't know anyone in the business". The book now being the answer to that question. The reader does have a "friend in the 'biz". Not only do the readers have a chance to interact with Mr. Wood throughout the book he has called on many of his "friends in the 'biz" to lend advice to the rock/pop star hopeful and even provide their own contact information so the reader can reach out to them. Those taking part read like a who's who of the music industry including Casey Kasem, Ruth McCartney (Paul McCartney's sister), Tom Anderson (Founder, Myspace.com), Dale Penner (Producer, Nickelback), Susan Henry (Co-Executive Producer, Montel Williams Show), Don Kronberg (Jerry Seinfeld) and many, many more. "The book was designed for those that are wanting to get ahead in the business whether they are a musician, a parent that is helping guide a young career or the best friend that is leading the charge". The book also features an extensive contact directory filled with hundreds of "new friends in the 'biz" to be made.
