Actress Victoria Rowell Celebrates the Holiday Season with Plenty of Good Cheer

WHO:   Santa’s elves come out for the annual holiday party and gift giving to benefit the children of the Rowell Foster Children’s Positive Plan (RFCPP), founded by best-selling author and two-time Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Victoria Rowell. Celebrity Santa and special live performances by Grammy-nominated artist Kenny Lattimore as well as crowd pleasing balladeer, Abraham McDonald, and actress, author and musician Alexandra Rose Rieger.    

WHAT :   A holiday party with candy canes, carolers, and kids – but more importantly, GIFTS!

ABOUT THE EVENT
Friends of the Rowell Foster Children’s Positive Plan (RFCPP) in entertainment, business, political and civic circles come out to support actress Victoria Rowell’s efforts to bring tidings of comfort and joy to foster care children in Los Angeles County. Nearly 100 children in foster care and their families from Los Angeles have been invited to BB King’s Blues Club in Universal City to experience what is sure to be a memorable holiday for all. And to make it even more special, Santa will be there, distributing gifts to the kids … whether they’ve been naughty or nice!

R& B recording artist Kenny Lattimore  returns, and he’s set to put a new spin on favorite Christmas carols to get folks in the holiday mood. And if that’s not enough, balladeer Abraham McDonald  -- a singer who Grammy-winner Patti LaBelle  declares: “That boy is bad!” -- will also lend his talents to the cause, as well  as teen Alexandra Rose Rieger , actress, singer and national youth advocate and ambassador.  Rieger’s new book “HARMONY” will be given out as presents in the gift bags as presents.  See www.AlexandraRieger.com

While doling out holiday cheer, RFCPP will also present the following awards: ING, the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award; artist Phoebe Beasley, the Outstanding Individual Social Responsibility Award; and to the Mu Lambda Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Outstanding Community Service and Humanitarian Award. The event is a continuous effort for Rowell and RFCPP to raise the public’s awareness about the need for more people to make a difference in the lives of the 518,000 children and youth living in foster care in the United States.

About Victoria Rowell
An actress, advocate, mother, and a former foster child, Victoria Rowell is now the best-selling author of her memoir, “The Women Who Raised Me,” published by William Morrow/An Imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.  The memoir is a tribute not only to the amazing women who cared for Rowell when her birth mother could not, but also to the foster care system that brought them into her life. “I was never meant to be raised by one mother, but my many,” says Rowell.

In conjunction with the release of her memoir, Rowell also highlights her amazing foster mothers in the new documentary, “The Mentor,” which has been making its rounds in the film festival circuit. “The Mentor” was chosen as official selections in the Pan African Film Festival, the Roxbury Film Festival and the Turks and Calicos Film Festival.
