Discovering your DNA Ancestral Background

Today we can look at the DNA sequence in the mitochondrial DNA and then evaluate where your ancestors came from and how they got there.  Your type of mitochondrial DNA will label you into a certain Group; For example:

Group I originating 30,000 years ago is found in Mediterranean regions (in both Arabian and European centres), Group Q are descendants of the southern pacific regions (in particular New Guinea and Melanesia), Group J is found prominently in Russia and eastern Europe. It was born roughly 10,000 years ago, in - or near - Mesopotamia, and migrated into Europe.

There are over 20 different groups, and many of those are further divided to subgroups, allowing us to give more detail on your ancestral history. The DNA-Father Wallchart reveals the story of your ancient ancestors, based on scientific analysis of your DNA which you inherited from your father. DNA-Father traces the Y chromosome, passed down from father to son and therefore only found in males. If females are interested in discovering this side of their family, their DNA can be analysed using a DNA sample from any close male relative like a father, brother or uncle.

The findings of both services are delivered in a wallchart format in either A4 or A3 size and having the option of either a modern design or a more traditional layout. This explains the journey made by your ancestors with movement maps of their trail and detailed genetic information.
