Dec. 10, 2007 - PRLog -- International Convention on Globalization and Rural Development to be held in New Delhi.

On 11th and 12th February 2008 in India Habitat Center, New Delhi more than 300 delegates across the globe will gather to attend the International Convention on Globalization and Rural Development (ICGRD) sponsored by Protsahan.

Protsahan in a non-profitable and non-governmental organization, which builds community awareness and capacity and facilitates communication between the various elements of development for better functioning of the development mechanism.

ICGRD is a platform to spread the message of combining the essence of globalization and bringing self-sufficiency among the rural segment. After all globalization must create opportunities, jobs, and hopes for everyone. Hence forth Protsahan has decided organize ICGRD as an annual event year after year in different metropolitan cities of India and abroad in future that will continue to deliberate on issues in rural development. The first convention was held in February 2006 in Nagpur. The second convention was held in February 2007 in World Trade Center Mumbai.

Protsahan is organized under the direction of Mr. Dhiraj Kumar, who is the Project Director of ICGRD. Under his direction ICGRD has successfully completed two International Conventions. The purpose behind organizing the convention was to bring together rural development functionaries from all the sectors working for the betterment of the rural people in the changing economic scenario. ICGRD 2007 was a fruitful experience and witnessed detailed discussions on the implication of globalization of various aspects of rural development including agriculture, agriculture subsidy and microfinance, rural industries, common natural resources, and rural health and education.

ICGRD 2008 will be an International Platform to bring together social and development functionaries working in different capacities (NGOs, academicians, policy makers and implementers) from all over the world. The purpose is to identify through mutual experience sharing, such challenges in rural development, that some practitioners face (especially in the background of the changing economic scenario), and solutions that some others might have come across. The deliberations would help incubate ideas and identify areas that need research and action.

The convention is open for sponsorship and participation and interested can contact Project Director, ICGRD 2008, at 201 Hakim Arcade, coffee House Sq. Dharempeth, Nagpur or can also contact on 0712-2555225, 2551971, 09370327442 or can also mail us at icgrd123@gmail.com. You can also login to our website www.icgrd.org.in
