This visible and viable source of self-expression and anti-violence activism begins with a poetry slam fest sponsored by Rockport with featured co-host Coltrane from MTV’s “Overdrive” The slam will be judged by poet/entrepreneur K.D. Morris (PhyreNeyce) Rockport, a member of the Adidas Group, also brings opportunity to Philadelphia promoters as Rockport and MTV seek the hottest poetry and performance art venues to sponsor for its late spring/early summer 2008 promotional season. Rockport brings free shoes and a check of $2,000 or more to the winning venue in each city. November 11, 2007 is the opportunity for Philadelphia audiences to get free Rockport shoes and Philly promoters to network with representatives from Rockport and MTV. The Arts Garage, located in Brewertown at 1533-35 Ridge Avenue, will host the Sponsor Mixer and After Party with Djs Johnny Dangerous and Rich Medina.
