Oct. 31, 2007 - PRLog -- For business, health care, and technology programs on the west coast, explore the possibilities offered to you by Heald College (http://www.collegebound.net/clickcount.php?id=8799534&goto=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.collegesurfing.com%2Fce%2Fheald%2F). It's a career college that's been around since 1863, so they're certainly no stranger to career education.

Eleven campuses pepper the west coast states of California, Oregon, and tropical Hawaii. At each campus you'll have the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts, an Associate in Applied Science, certain diplomas, and certificates. The programs range from six months to two years in length, depending on the degree curriculum.

According to the Heald College website: "Unlike other career colleges, earning your associate degree at Heald is much more than skill training. At Heald, our goal is to provide you with the most efficient path to a quality education. We offer career-focused programs that give you the experience you need to succeed in today's workplace - in the shortest practical time."

Because Heald College operates on a quarterly system, there's always a chance to enroll in classes and begin an education. Classes begin in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. And Heald College is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Students pick an area of interest from the broad concentrations of technology, health care, and business. Within each area is a specialty. For example, business includes fields from accounting to hospitality management to criminal justice. Health care can focus on dental assisting and medical billing and coding, among others. Some technology programs may include web design and Cisco certification.

No matter what the concentration, however, students get more than just technical training. They'll also get to study various aspects of culture, literature, and personal responsibility. Heald College aims for each of its students to not only be knowledgeable in their field, but to also be well-rounded, marketable individuals that are more likely to be hired for real world work. This is especially true due to the type of faculty at Heald College. There are professors who have both real world and classroom experience so students receive the best of both worlds.

Students interested in the programs offered at Heald College can take advantage of the free career planning session they offer to give students an idea of where they want to steer their education. Once they have indicated their completion of a high school diploma or equivalency, they may fill out an application and submit it to begin classes at Heald College.

Internships and externships are highly encouraged at Heald College. That's why students may receive credit for doing real world work in their chosen field of study. Once students receive their associate degree, they may use what they've learned to work full time or to work toward a bachelor's degree at one of the many universities that accept transfer credits earned at Heald College.

Heald College is certainly a career college that will not only prepare you for your career, but will also prepare you to be a well-rounded and worldly individual. As its mission states: "Heald College prepares students for academic, personal, and professional success through quality career-focused programs that develop skills to last a lifetime."
