Julie Watson, a well known and prolific Island author will be re-launching her Seafood Cookery book at the bestofpei Store www.bestofpei.com on Richmond Street, Ch'town, Prince Edward Island Saturday, November 3rd from 1-3pm.

Oct. 30, 2007 - PRLog -- Charlottetown, PEI - Julie Watson, a well known and prolific Island author will be re-launching her Seafood Cookery book at the bestofpei Store on Richmond Street Saturday, November 3rd from 1-3pm.

The Seafood Cookery, the first book written by Watson, was originally published in 1983 and has been re-printed several times. This re-launch updates the look of the book and provides another printing of the edition. Watson welcomes the public to the re-launching of the Seafood Cookery.

Julie is currently the food editor of Island Living magazine www.islandlivingpei.com/ and has numerous cookbooks to her credit including; Seafood Cookery, Simple Pleasures from our Maritime Kitchens, Ardogwan: A Journal of House and Garden in Victorian Prince Edward Island, and mini books titled Hot Drinks, and Fiery Flavours. While writing about food is her passion, Watson has written a number of other books on various topics ranging from living with diabetes, historical stories, and a book on women owned business. Watson's other titles include; Living with Diabetes: a Family Affair, Historic Charlottetown, Calling the Maritimes Home, Ghost Stories and Legends of Prince Edward Island, Shipwrecks and Seafaring Tales of Prince Edward Island, How Women Make Money: Inspirational Stories and Practical Advice From Successful Canadian Entrepreneurs.

If you ask Julie, why she has written so many books, she will tell you, "I write because it is what I love to do. I totally enjoy the whole process of coming up with an idea, developing it, researching, and writing. I also enjoy the next phase, taking your words to a final product. The print medium is something you can have, hold, set aside then go back to. I love to hold and own books, so it is very gratifying to be able to hold my own work and know that it will be here for a long time to come. " 

Watson has received the Gold Canadian Food Culture Award for her cookbook Simple Pleasures from Out Maritime Kitchens and has written 25 books and hundreds of magazine articles.
