BITS Pilani Rajasthan alumnus Khurshid Ganai IAS officer J&K adds pride to his alma mater

Oct. 25, 2007 - PRLog -- In a glittering function held at the state of the art Shere-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC), Srinagar, the Governor of the State Lt.Gen (Retd) S K Sinha awarded on Monday Oct 22, 2007, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister's Gold Medal for honesty, integrity and meritorious service to Khurshid Ganai Principal Secretary, General Administration Department for his outstanding contribution to the public welfare and development of the state during the last 25 years.

Khurshid Ahmad Ganai who hails from Mattan (near Anantnag) famous for having a temple, a Gurdwara and an Iddgah at one place, inspired the local youth when he achieved second position in the IAS examination in 1982. He has held various key positions in Jammu and Kashmir during his illustrious 25 year tenure.

By getting this Gold Medal, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai has brought pride to his alma mater Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani Rajasthan where he was a student during 1974-1979 and obtained his B.E. (Hons) Mechanical Engineering. In October 2004, Khurshid was planning to attend the Silver Jubilee Reunion with his batchmates at Pilani but when duty called his presence at Kashmir, he sacrificed his trip to Pilani. His friends missed him indeed on the day of reunion but they were Proud to have him as a friend.

Proud to be a BITSian Khurshid Ganai is bound to climb more peaks in the times to come.
