Oct. 16, 2007 - PRLog -- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL -- TechPalooza, a leading Reseller of more than 300,000 products of popular computer technology hardware, software, electronics and corresponding peripherals to millions of consumers, announced today that it has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support the fight against breast cancer. Since 1982, the foundation has been working to end breast cancer forever. Today, Komen for the Cure is a global grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.

To coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, TechPalooza is offering a special free FedEx ground standard shipping promotion for all technology product purchases. To generate breast cancer awareness, the free shipping promotion applies to all technology products available at www.TechPalooza.com that are purchased during the month of October. As part of these awareness and fund raising programs, TechPalooza will donate a portion of its profits earned by technology products sold this month to Komen for the Cure. The technology products available for purchase on the TechPalooza website include, but are not limited to such popular items as: new desktop PCs, notebooks, printers, PDAs, monitors, backpacks and totes. By offering free shipping for all technology items, President and CEO, Brian Heeren's goal is to help contribute funds to the fight against breast cancer.

“Breast cancer has affected so many people, including some I know personally, that I am compelled to do our small part for finding a cure,” Heeren said. “I hope that our efforts inspire others to join in this movement to save lives.”

Now that the holidays are approaching, many are beginning to think about the joys the seasons bring. During this time of year, many people often find joy in purchasing gifts for co-workers, friends and family members. As computer electronics and information technology continues to integrate into many aspects of our everyday lives, these products have become extremely popular items to give as gifts. By partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, TechPalooza is offering creative opportunities for people to be a part of the cure for breast cancer movement. When purchasing technology items for yourself, or gifts for co-workers, friends and family members, TechPalooza is providing a means for people to support Komen’s promise to end breast cancer.

"By partnering with industry leading manufacturers such as: MobileEdge, Raritan, Lenovo, Belkin, Buffalo, and PNY, TechPalooza is able to provide the finest solutions to customers that not only meet their technology needs, but exceeds their expectations. Being able to provide exceptional products and service, in conjunction with contributing to finding a cure for breast cancer is extremely gratifying." said Brian Heeren, TechPalooza President and CEO. He added, “Some manufacturers have created products specifically for the Komen for the Cure, like MobileEdge’s Pink Komen Leather Tote, Komen Paris Backpack, and Komen Microfiber Tote. As a Reseller of MobileEdge product, it pleases me to know that some of the manufacturers that we are involved with are also contributing to the fight against breast cancer.”

An estimated 178,480 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in American women in 2007 alone. As screening programs have become more common, many cases of breast cancer are being detected in the earlier stages of the disease. Finding breast cancer in an early stage is critical for successful treatment of the disease. The five-year survival rate is 95 percent when the disease is discovered while still confined to the breast. Since the early 1980s, the diagnoses of early stage cancer and pre-cancerous conditions have increased significantly, while the diagnoses of cases at the advanced stages have remained stable or dropped slightly.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure:
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, the promise one sister made to another became the foundation of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Due in part to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, Komen for the Cure has invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill their promise to end breast cancer forever. Komen for the Cure has become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. For more information about Susan G.
