Sept. 30, 2007 - PRLog -- Paul Cruser, formerly of Red Oak Cafe and James "Shay" White, chef/owner of Gray Bear Grille have joined their culinary forces in the opening of Butcher's Block Market. The gourmet shop sits in pastoral Goochland County, VA in the village of Oilville, just off I-64. "We saw the need for an upscale market where local folks can shop for fresh seafood, exceptional beef and wine that the local grocery chain doesn't offer."
The market makes good use of it's proximity to the Gray Bear Grille, where fresh rustic breads are baked daily. While Butcher's Block Market does not serve many prepared items, it is a convenient stop for dinner items to be cooked at home. Lump crab cakes and stuffed flounder are items that are quick and easy to prepare at home, and the owners are always on hand to offer cooking advice. Butcher's Block Market has their own line of seasoning blends and marinades, and a collection of favorite recipes sits on top of the deli case. Unique cheeses, specialty desserts, crackers and gourmet treats line the shelves.
Butcher's Block Market welcomes special orders and is available, in conjuction with Gray Bear Grille, to cater any size party.
