Sept. 17, 2007 - PRLog -- Economatics Education, the schools’ teaching resources provider, has taken significant steps to help fulfil the government’s initiative to develop e-commerce activity, and delivery of the Gershon efficiency targets. They have just launched their own, brand new e-commerce website and are now available and trading with schools via OPEN, the online marketplace for schools.

Teachers will be able to select from a huge range of products on the Economatics site; from Literacy, Maths, Science, ICT, D&T, History, Geography, PSHE, Fitness & Foreign Language resources at primary level, to ICT, Science, Maths and D&T resources at secondary level. All schools in the UK automatically have an account, and the site can be accessed at any time, from anywhere, without the need to use a printed catalogue, so it’s much easier and more efficient than the old methods.

Lori Candlish, Economatics Education’s Marketing Manager, said “We have set out to produce the best resources website in education. The resources are in line with the curriculum, and as we know how busy teachers are, we have made it easy and quick to use. In addition to the shop, there’s also a fantastic support section, where teachers can try out demos and downloads, and access a huge range of teaching support and ideas. We’ve also given schools a 10% discount off their online orders until the end of October to save them more money and promote the use of eCommerce”.

JBS Webdesign Ltd is the company behind the development of the site. Sarah Bailey, Senior Account Manager, relished the challenge that Economatics Education gave to them. “It was a very exciting proposal for us as it involved lots of dynamic functionality, which our programmers love to embrace. The site is now so dynamic as the Content Management System has been completely built bespoke to their requirements. All Economatics Education’s customers are set up in a unique customer management part to the site, which means that any school just has to do a quick search for their school, and all account details are already set up for them, which saves them time”.

In addition to their own site, Economatics Education is delighted to be involved in the OPEN Marketplace for Schools project. This project will help realise government efficiency targets, by reducing the time it takes for schools to order goods and services. For Economatics Education, it means the possibility of reaching more schools, and gives them another route to market. It also helps reinforce the fact that online activity and e-commerce is key for both suppliers and buyers in education.
