HelmetHead Cycle Gear Launches Motorcycle Safety Campaign

“What good are motorcycle accessories, if the rider using them isn’t alive?” asks Jeremy Harris, media coordinator for HelmetHead Cycle Gear™.

Sept. 11, 2007 - PRLog -- Sautee, GA, USA September 11, 2007 – HelmetHead Cycle Gear™ has recently launched a “THINK! Motorcycle Safety” campaign (http://www.helmetheadcyclegear.com/think) which “will help motorcyclists and general motorists everywhere be more informed of the dangers and safety precautions of riding a motorcycle,” reports Jeremy Harris, media coordinator for the company.

“We’ve chosen to name our new campaign ‘THINK!’ after a United Kingdom based website (http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campaigns/motorcycles/motorcycles.htm) of the same name. ‘THINK! Road Safety’ is their slogan. We’re not trying to compete with them in any fashion, but rather further their own efforts. We liked what we saw on their website and decided we’d start a campaign of our own, using the same name, for familiarity,” states Harris.

HelmetHead Cycle Gear™ is currently seeking submissions from motorcycle safety instructors, people who have had accidents or anyone else to supplement this section of their website and is offering two Helmet Sunblockers™ sun visors, which retail for $15.95 (U.S. currency) each, to contributors.

“We’re currently looking for any kind of content that will make this section worth its weight. Such content includes pictures, stories, even video which we may post on our site. We feel that, being in the motorcycle accessories business, and gradually moving into the parts market, we should offer a means to educate the beginner, as well as remind the pros, of how to ride their bikes the safest way possible. We want them alive so they can buy from us again!” jokes Harris.

On August 21, MSNBC & Associated Press posted “a single airplane crash could lead to public outcries while more than 40,000 deaths on the roads fail to generate much response,” according to safety groups. Jacqueline Gillan, vice president of Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety reported that “countermeasures we are pursuing may be good, but they’re not enough”.

“I’m just trying to do my part in helping riders out there be more informed that they are sharing the road with some crazy people out there. We’ve had a lot of fatalities in our own town (Cleveland, GA) over the past year. It’s really sickening,” Jeremy Harris says.
