Aug. 29, 2007 - PRLog -- Hollywood, Ca (August 27, 2007) -- Bruce Vilanch, comedian, actor, and writer best known for his contributions as a leading writer for the Oscars, Emmys and Tony Awards, is introducing rising rock singer Audra Hardt. Vilanch will launch Hardt's set at The Key Club on September 14 th at 8:00 pm with his unique brand of comedy.

Vilanch will not be alone in his show of support for rocker Audra Hardt. Keith David is among the guest list of celebrities that will be in attendance for the performance. Mayor John Duran of West Hollywood is endorsing Hardt at The Mint September 29 th. With Hardt's music crossing generational boundaries, her positive example and the sheer power of her voice, it is no surprise she has such a strong show of support from Hollywood insiders.

As a rock singer, Hardt is a dynamic and refreshingly different representative of a musical genre that has long been associated with drugs and alcohol. Living on the wrong side of the tracks as a teen and finding herself with a rap sheet at 15, Audra Hardt has a huge voice and speaks passionately, even eloquently, about her music and choices both good and bad she's made that have brought her to this point in her career. Audra says, "The temptation is always present, but I have lived that lie before. The promise of a better anything has little chance of coming to fruition with a chemically altered state of mind. I also feel that I have a responsibility to show a new way of power, a new definition of cool, a way of rocking out that adults and adolescents can agree on."

When you see Audra Hardt perform, it's immediately obvious that she doesn't just 'talk the talk'. Hardt earns respect with a performance that raises the roof in a way that hasn't been seen in a very long time. She combines perfect pitch with a soulful grit that brings to mind Joplin, Morissette, and Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons.

The September 14th performance at the Key Club falls on the release date of Audra Hardt's new EP "Superficial Superstar". Released through indie label King of Hardt Records, the EP features the rocker "Watch Me", and power ballad "Now and Then", written for the independent film ‘Beautiful Loser’ from Sneak Preview Entertainment. The EP will be available through iTunes, at www.AudraHardt.com and Audra's MySpace page, as well as other digital music outlets. To view a live performance of the single, “Do It To Me” paste, http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1050843WabfgQ4z into your browser.
