Aug. 17, 2007 - PRLog -- PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Aug. 20, 2007) – The days of running out of propane in the middle of grilling a meal are over with the introduction of The Tank, a new propane BBQ tank with a built-in gauge developed by The Indicator Company.

By looking at a gauge on The Tank's valve, the grill master will know whether the tank is full (time to grill) or has less than 15 percent of the propane remaining (time to fill).  The gauge reading is always accurate because The Tank's innovative, patented "indicator" valve measures liquid content, not pressure, to give a precise indication of how much fuel remains in the canister.  The valve is not influenced by temperature fluctuations and comes installed and ready to use.

"I've heard countless stories of people who have lost their flame right in the middle of grilling a meal because the propane ran out," said Isabelle Schmitz, The Indicator Company's president.  "We decided there had to be an easier way to tell how much propane was left in the canister than shaking it or attaching some contraption, so we developed The Tank.  Its unique gauge virtually eliminates the chance of running out of gas without knowing."

Easy to use, The Tank requires no instructions or batteries, and its gauge features a glow-in-the-dark dial making it easy to read, even in low light conditions.  Other features include a D.O.T. 4BA 240 certified tank, a UL listed valve with OPD (overfill prevention device), and a valve outlet dust cap.

The Tank is ideal for gas grills but also works great with propane patio heaters, mosquito control units, boats, RVs, and camping trailers or any application that uses a standard 20-pound propane (LP) tank with a Type 1 connection. Because the gauge mechanism is located within the tank, and the indicator is integrated in the valve, leaks caused by adding additional components in-line with the tank are not a problem.
