July 31, 2007 - PRLog -- I am 44 years but I have always enjoyed writing. This book was a work which came at the end of many years of study. I feel very satisfied to see it in print. I started writing it in Spring 2004. Having studied the subject matter over a period of 20 years, I felt I had something new to say on the subject of the End Times and wanted to commit it to writing so that that it could be made available to the widest possible audience.

Before I begin to write, I look to research my subject thoroughly to bring myself to the place where I am confident in my material. Then I write the first draft from cover to cover, leave it for a few months and then review and refine what I have written until I am happy with the finished result. I will then ask others to read it and incorporate any feedback into the draft, before submitting it for publication.

I lead a church, but when I am not doing that, I also work as a Contract Project Manager in the Call Centre industry. Being a contractor allows me to have time slots which I can dedicate to writing. I wrote about half of this book whilst on a project in India, rising at 8, writing until 12 and then working from 1 to 9 in the evening.

Those who have read it have given a positive response. A study book of this nature is not everybody’s cup of tea, but I have tried to make it readable and accessible to everyone.

I read very widely from a number of different genres. I was brought up on a diet of classical writers such as Jane Austen, Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Dumas, and William Shakespeare. From such writers any author can improve their own craft, not only of storytelling, but also the way in which language is used. Much of my time these days however is spent reading history or Bible study books. The historian David Rohl is currently one of my favourites who has taken a unique approach to history timelines and reinterpreted much of the historical record in a way that makes it hang together in a more cohesive manner. From a study point of view, I admire the clear teaching of Derek Prince and the systematic approach of Wayne Gruydem. I also love to read the poetry of T.S.Eliot which explores moral and spiritual themes with an insight which is unique in the poetic world.

I have two books under construction at the moment: one is a novel in the fantasy genre which has been in process for about 15 years; the other is a study book on the Kingdom of God. The two books are vying for my attention at the moment.
I would like to continue to study and to write, however, I do not want to add to the reams of printed material for the sake of it. I believe I do have some insight and something to say and, as long as that is the case, I will seek to put it on paper.

About the book - It’s the End of the World as we know it:
The opening years of this decade have been typified by terrorist atrocities such as 9/11; wars in places like Afghanistan and Iraq; starvation and disease in Africa; natural disasters such as the Tsunami and the earthquakes in Turkey and Pakistan. For the Christian, none of these should be a surprise. They are the 'signs of the times', Jesus himself described events such as these as 'the beginning of birth pangs' which point to His Second Coming. This book has been written as a guide to the end time prophecies in the Bible in order that the reader may understand events such as the Rapture, the Millennium, the judgement of the nations and Israel and decipher mysterious personalities such as the beast, the antichrist and the false prophet as the return of Christ draws near.
