THERE IS NOT ONE GOOD REASON, WHY WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH RECALLED PRODUCTS...PERIOD!!! The U.S is one of the largest importing/exporting countries, and they do a VERY GOOD JOB at keeping recalls out of the consumers hands, but MAJOR problems STILL persist... The recall system is divided into 8 federal, and well over 60 state health and food agencies in the U.S. alone.. Now add all the other agencies from all the other countries, who have a recall program... Now add to that, the fact that very few of these government and business agencies share information with each other, especially cross-border, you begin to see a pattern emerge... LITERALLY...THE CROSS- BORDER MISINFORMATION BEUROCRACY KEEPS CONSUMERS UNAWARE!!!! There are massive CLASS 1 recalls in the U.S., that get no mention in any other country, but they have the EXACT SAME PRODUCT !!! No one needs to be told of the MASSIVE campaign on Chinese Products...just lately!!!! Most people do not want to spend 20-30 minutes DAILY looking for a needle in a haystack, on the government websites!!! Try find MAJOR drug, vehicle, medical device recalls!!! And that is not a shock, because, when you tally the RECALLS DAILY, from ALL countries, on ALL products, the amount of information you have to disseminate, even a big corporation like Ebay cannot keep up to all the latest recalls!!! Compare the latest recalls. to their listings!! Never mind newspapers, sales, etc,...the list goes on.....THERE IS NO NEED!!! The major hurdle is brand awareness...Business is concerned if their name is in lights[ not good ] BUT,... BOTTOM LINE.....MASS MEDIA HAS NO TIME TO ADDRESS ALL THESE ISSUES !!! One does not have ALL the information to make a decision as to WHY some [trivial]recalls make headlines, while MASSIVE Class 1 Recalls get brushed over... You wanted to know the problem with the recall system....GOVERNMENT WEIGHS : 1...CONSUMER RISK.......against 2...BUSINESS $$$???,,LOBBYISTS??? THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.... 1...MAKE CONSUMERS AWARE OF ALL RECALLS... 2...GIVE CONSUMERS ALL PERTINANT INFORMATION, So there in no mis-information!!! 3...SO CONSUMERS CAN DECIDE[for themselves] WHAT IS RELEVANT!!!!...PERIOD WHY IS THIS SUCH A PROBLEM!@!!@!!@!
