July 6, 2007 - PRLog -- http://www.easyodds.com - The 22-year-old driver has taken the sport by storm, finishing on the podium in eight races out of eight during his debut Formula One season. He stands at the top of the drivers’ championship with 64 points, 14 ahead of McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso and 17 ahead of Ferrari pilot Felipe Massa.
The problem for punters, of course, is: how to cash in on Hamilton? His prices have crashed with every passing race, making it harder and harder to find value on the Stevenage-born driver.

Indeed, Formula One has been dominated by such a small pool of drivers this year it is getting increasingly difficult to find value in the race win market at all. Four drivers have claimed all three podium positions in seven out of eight races to date – Hamilton, Alonso, Massa and Kimi Raikkonen who, like Massa, drives for Ferrari. The exception came in Canada, when Nick Heidfeld and Alexander Wurz surprisingly spoiled the party.
You can look back in the history books to separate the leading quartet. There is no way of gauging Hamilton’s suitability for the Silverstone circuit, since this is his debut season, but Massa has finished in the points only, once so we rule him out.

In contrast, both Alonso and Raikkonen have caught the eye in previous British Grands Prix. Alonso won last year and came second in 2005, while Raikkonen has finished on the podium (one second and three third places) in each of the past four years. You may therefore consider either to win the race, or back Raikkonen at 1/2 to claim a podium finish.

For better value, look to Nick Heidfeld and Giancarlo Fisichella. Both men may be off the pace in the drivers’ championship but the pair have a decent track record at Silverstone. Heidfeld, who drives for Sauber, came seventh last year and has finished in the points on two other occasions, while Renault’s Fisichella has finished fourth at Silverstone in each of the past two years.

If you fancy the race market, we suggest you take your pick from Hamilton, Alonso and Raikkonen. The most logical podium finish bet is Raikkonen at 1/2. For a long-shot, we recommend Fisichella to finish on the podium at 20/1.

Recommended Bets - 1pt - Fisichella podium finish 20/1
