Low Cost Auto Insurance -- Your Colleague Pays Less For Superior Coverage

A few things could be more painful than discovering that you are paying a lot more for something inferior. We all like to get our money's worth.

June 15, 2007 - PRLog -- Your colleague who has found the way to low cost auto insurance could easily get a massively superior coverage for much lower than you are paying.

Even if you don't have a colleague who pays far less for more, unless you have gone through the process I'll show in this article, you could be paying anywhere between $400 and $2000 more for a comparable or inferior insurance policy. Here are a few things that could be responsible for such.

He/she may have a more insurance friendly profile. What they call "preferred auto" insurance prospect. These have to do with your driving history, age grouping, marital status, no claims history and things like that.

But what if you really are sure you have a more insurance friendly profile but still pay much more? Then there could only be one reason. Listen up: You have not done extensive research or shopping.

In one of my researches, I saw a profile that had a difference of over $2000 (For a comparable service) between two insurance companies. Now I must say this. The insurance companies are not ripping you off. It's just that their system of calculating the risk involved in insuring a prospect isn't favorable to such a profile. I really took time out to explain why this is so in another article.

So back to what we were saying...

If you didn't do extensive research, you almost definitely are paying way too much than you should. So how do you do an extensive research?

Before you begin to think that this involves some brain-surgery-level of sophistication, all you really need to do this is a few minutes and a computer. All that's involved is visiting auto insurance quotes and comparison sites. Each will take you only a few minutes. They usually return about 5 quotes or more.

However, I strongly recommend that you get as many quotes as you can from as many of these sites as possible. The simple reason is that some sites will not include certain insurance companies for reasons best known to them (A likely one is that they don't want to pitch their sponsors against better priced competition).

If you do this well, you'll have many different quotes then you can start the next stage: Comparing quotes to see where your bread is better buttered. It's easy and will take you only around 3-5 minutes per site. But can you imagine how happy you'll be if you make savings of $1000 (or even $100) for 3-5 minutes work?

Would you call yourself wise if you passed up a free opportunity to save much cash?
