May 9, 2007 - PRLog -- Companies with a collective issue size of Rs. 50,000 crore (Rs. 500 billion) have been waiting for years to float IPO's. These companies are now using the bull run in the secondary markets which started in 2004 and continues till date, to come out with their public issues. Since the interest rates are rising and are at a peak now at around 15%, corporates are looking towards the capital markets for raising funds. DLF is slated to come out with its mega IPO of over 10,000 crores (Rs. 100 billion) later this month. There are dozens of new companies filing red herring prospectus with SEBI every month. Over the last three-five years, private equity investors have taken huge stakes in companies engaged in technology, media, telecom and pharma sectors. With many of these investments maturing and the markets well poised, these companies may be seeking exits.
