Glitnir also raised 5,000 Euros for UNICEF by auctioning a helmet signed by Michael Schumacher.

The European Seafood Exposition is an annual 3-day event that brings together seafood buyers and sellers from all over the world. With an experienced team of specialist bankers, Glitnir is focusing on building business in the seafood industry and is keen to boost its profile in the niche sector. The Nordic bank already has a proven track record of providing finance and expertise for seafood projects - Glitnir recently helped launch Copeinca, one of the biggest fishmeal and fish oil producers in Peru, as the first foreign seafood company on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Glitnir also hosted a luncheon at the Expo in which W. Dexter Paine III, President and Co-founder of Fox Paine & Company, spoke on the private equity market and what role it might play in global seafood investments in the future.

The Glitnir organisers were pleased with the show and the interest that was generated for the Nordic bank. “Participation in a show like this is very important for Glitnir to keep up to date with what is happening in the industry”, said analyst in Glitnir’s Seafood Team, Asmundur Gislason. “These venues are important arenas in strengthening relationships with our current clients as well as building new ones, in order to keep our position as a true partner in the global seafood industry.”
