PremiereTrade® LLC President/CEO James Dicks Joins national Business Leaders to Learn the Mission of the U.S. Navy in the Arabian Gulf with the DOD’s Joint Civilian Orientation Conference

ALTMONTE SPRINGS, FL – April 27, 2007 – James Dicks, President/CEO of PremiereTrade® LLC has spent this week on an orientation tour of military facilities in the Horn of Africa and the Middle East through the Department of Defense program called the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC).

The JCOC participants were told by the deputy commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, Navy Rear Adm. Scott H. Swift that the key to bringing stability to the region lies in the success of the military providing security for countries within the region. Adm. Swift continued, “Security is a means to an end.  The end is certainly the growth of the region – financially, by gaining independence, and by developing religious and governance autonomy so that countries can find their way forward.”

Swift described the strides in the building of Bahrain’s financial district as being “phenomenal,” as well as Doha, Qatar, which is seeing the rise of an impressive economic and social environment.  He pointed out that a few countries are managing to succeed despite the challenges.  U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and U.S. 5th Fleet consist of as many as 25 ships and 15,000 sailors and Marines in an area covering 2.5 million square miles. Naval forces in the gulf are continuing to put pressure on terrorist organizations by expanding maritime security and building deeper relationships with regional partners.

After the briefing, Dicks said, “The show of force in this region is extremely impressive and should be a definite deterrent to global terror.  This entire trip has been eye opening and makes me confident that our forces are doing everything they can to prevent future terror attacks anywhere in the world. Our military is truly amazing.”

The JCOC is a Secretary of Defense sponsored program for America's leaders interested in expanding their knowledge of the military and national defense. JCOC is the oldest existing Pentagon outreach program and has been held more than 72 times since its inception in 1948.
