March 16, 2007 - PRLog -- 1.3 Million Realtors Cannot Afford Health Insurance

Disparaging news from a US News and World Report March 5, 2007 report. It stated 1.3 million
realtors cannot afford medical insurance. This group sadly represents the ill-fated health care crisis in the USA today. By some this article will be construed as bad press for the realty world and by others—just another shameful example of the condition of health care in the US today.

It is not only Realtors of course who suffer. Forty six million people in the USA are underserved and nine million children are not covered even though public programs are in place. The health care crisis is of epic proportions. Instead of advocating lower prices insurance costs steadily increase to cover the skyrocketing costs of health care.

Fortunately, in response to this crisis, a different type of healthcare is moving to the forefront.   Consumer Driven Health Care (CDHC) offers an alternative to high cost plans. New programs are not insurance but discounted health benefits that are saving consumers billions of dollars. The forerunner in the CDHC field is AmeriPlan® USA.

The discount program benefits that make AmeriPlan different include:

Savings of up 80% on dental and 50% on medical costs for an entire family at $59.95 is undermining the grip of  insurance plans.  Interestingly, because AmeriPlan Medical Care is not insurance, all ongoing medical problems are accepted. AmeriPlan offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and that is novel in the health care field.

When a health plan which includes dental, vision, prescription, chiropractic and mental health offers savings of 20-80% consumers are bound to benefit from having elected to choose the option. What a difference innovation and ingenuity can make in a free enterprise market.

Yet skeptics ask, “Are the plans reliable?” AmeriPlan, for example, is a member in good standing with many prestigious organizations such as the BBB, the Consumer Health Alliance, NADP, National Association of Health Underwriters, and the only discount health plan Net Quote will refer.

Finally consumers are offered a program that puts some control back into the hands of the doctor and the patient. Providers are obviously pleased as there are over 500,000 in the US today and the numbers are rapidly growing. Not all news is bad news…the good news today is that families can obtain affordable health benefits and the plans are also available to groups; therefore the small businessman can gain and retain valued employees by offering a benefits package without losing his profits. Good news for all indeed as competition is the best way to bring health costs down.
