March 13, 2007 - PRLog -- The Battle of Thermopylae, 480 BC., was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the invading Persian army at the pass of Thermopylae. Greatly outnumbered, the Greeks delayed the enemy in one of the most famous last stands in history. Led by the Spartan King, Leonidas, and a force of 300 Spartan warriors, 11,000 Greeks faced more than 150,000 Persians under the leadership of King xerxes. A local resident named Ephialtes betrayed the Greeks, revealing a mountain path that led behind the Greek lines. Dismissing the rest of the army, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans and 700 Thespian volunteers to delay the advance of the Persian army as long as possible.

In the Battle of Thermopylae board game 2 players bid to see who will play the Spartan side. The winning bid amount becomes the number of Persian forces the Spartan player must destroy in order to achieve a game victory (The Spartans winning the battle outright is regarded as impossible). The Battle of Thermopylae 2nd Edition is available now for only $7.95 +s&h. For more information visit us online at:
