By: UTOPIA The “n” word is freely used by today’s musicians and comedians, which implies to society that is word is ok. In fact, this word is still offensive to people of African descent. The proprietor of UTOPIA (Pamela D. Smith) states, “You can walk pass any urban street corner, and almost always hear a youth calling another youth the ‘n’ word.” She adds, “It is our responsibility to teach our youth about the trials and tribulations this word has caused our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.” Incidents of racism is experienced and broadcast on the news everyday. UTOPIA has taken a stance for peace with the design of “Bias Bomb” apparel. The primary message for this apparel is “The ‘n’ word is absurd...” Two of the five secondary messages include “…because I am so much more” and “…grow up, man up, SHUT UP.” UTOPIA will donate a portion of its sales to the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ).
