Hotel Galvez, A Wyndham Historic Hotel, today announced it will launch a year-long celebration commemorating its 100 years of operation with a New Year’s Eve Ball on Dec. 31, 2010.

Spirits believed to roam Hotel Galvez are preparing to welcome guests for Ghosts of the Galvez package. Guests who elect the two-night package will join the concierge to conduct their own paranormal investigation in the 98-year-old beachfront hotel.

Galveston’s Hotel Galvez opened in 1911. As the hotel prepares for its 100th anniversary in 2011, Hotel Galvez invites former guests and visitors to share their family photos, stories and mementos of the hotel for a commemorative book and display.

Bernardo’s at Hotel Galvez, known for its long-standing Sunday champagne brunch, is pleased to announce that it’s expanding its popular Mother’s Day Brunch to include a children’s buffet and additional seating in the Music Hall.

Galveston’s historic Hotel Galvez, which sustained minimal damage from Hurricane Ike, is now scheduled to reopen to the public Oct. 15. The Hotel Galvez was built as a symbol of Galveston’s resilience following the Great Storm of 1900.

Bernardo’s Restaurant at the historic Hotel Galvez reopened for business on Wednesday, Oct. 1 following a temporary closure due to Hurricane Ike. The hotel's popular champagne brunch resumes on Sunday, Oct. 5.
