For every Husker Smashburger sold on Husker game days, beginning with the Texas Tech game, Saturday, October 17, $1 will be donated to TeamMates Mentoring Program which aims to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their potential.

Smashburger, a fast casual “better burger” restaurant will soon open in Nebraska. The first store is scheduled to open in Omaha at 123rd and “L” Streets, October 17, 2009. The store's hours are 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. seven days a week.
