October 15 Tariff Increases, Cancelled

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Oct. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- The announcement to call off the tariff increases previously set to take affect today (10/15/19) was officially made last Friday, according to the AP. The tariffs were set to increase 5% - from 25% to 30% on the list of $250 billion in imports from China.

As a result, China is agreeing to purchase $40-$50 billion from United States farms. While this deal is progressive in comprehensive nature, it does not affect or negate the impending 15% increase on $160 billion worth of Chinese imports set to take effect two months from today, December 15, 2019.
