NPSA Foundation Launches Free Recreational Soccer Program for the Greater Eastside

The NPSA Foundation is set to launch the NPSA Spartans, an innovative youth recreational soccer program in Bellevue, Mercer Island, and Renton. The first season will kick off in late summer for the 2016 Fall Season. Soccer For All!

BELLEVUE, Wash. - March 29, 2016 - PRLog -- The NPSA Foundation is excited to announce the launch of our innovative recreational soccer program, the NPSA Spartans.  The Spartans Program will serve the Greater Eastside, including initially Bellevue, Mercer Island, and Renton, and will play in the PSPL Rec League.  Our mission:  Offer rec soccer at no cost to everyone!

In the United States, soccer has become an expensive sport that requires families to pay in order to play for an established club. While paying for coaching services is a reality in today's market, this pay-to-play model has greatly limited the number of children who can participate in the game.

Our new Spartan program aims to eliminate those costs. We want to open soccer to everyone and specifically those families who have been held back by the rising costs of youth sports. The mission of our foundation is simple: To offer the underserved youth in the greater Eastside region access to quality soccer training and competitive games that will help them develop [the] soccer skills so they can enjoy the beautiful game or reach their potential and play for a competitive youth club.  We want to enable Soccer For All!

"
The NPSA Foundation has so far provided a free, professionally coached training program to over 200 players since our inception in fall 2015," said Adam Nowland, founder and director of NPSA. " We have also provided full scholarships to 6 players that now compete at the premier youth soccer level.  However, we believe there is so much more we can do to make youth soccer accessible to all.

"The logical next step in the evolution of the NPSA Foundation is to provide all players the full team experience," Nowland said. "This new innovative program will change the face of youth soccer in its current form.  The NPSA Foundation recreational program will open up the game and raise the standard of rec soccer as you know it.  This new program will be called the NPSA Spartans and will serve the greater Eastside."

Nowland Premier Soccer Academy (NPSA) will be the professional organization supporting the teams and volunteer coaches.  NPSA will provide a unified curriculum and structure where players and teams can develop and have fun.  This structure will also provide an opportunity to players who are ready to take the next steps in their soccer development.

Partnership with the Puget Sound Premier League

The NPSA Foundation and Puget Sound Premier League have partnered together to expand the current PSPL Recreational League to the greater Eastside.  The benefit of this partnership is to bring more support to the recreational soccer clubs, teams, and players.  We believe Rec Soccer is a vital and necessary component of putting all players first!

"We are very excited to join with NPSA Foundation to help create more opportunities for kids to play soccer who may be left out due to financial considerations," said PSPL President Stanley Holmes. "Soccer should be accessible to all young players regardless of income and we believe the NPSA Spartan program is a great first step to making sure this happens. Our Eastside Rec League will be open to all players and all teams."
