Joshua Williams and Unilever Share-A-Meal invite Commissioner Monestime to serve up Holiday cheer

Holidays are always a challenging time for families in need. For a happy time of year, there are a multitude of families that feel tired and depressed during the holidays. Joshua’s Heart works tirelessly every year to relieve holiday anxiety.

MIAMI - Dec. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- With elves in tow and volunteers on tap, Joshua Williams, founder of Joshua’s Heart Foundation (JHF) along with Unilever – Share-a-Meal threw a holiday party for hundreds in Commissioner Jean Monestime’s district for the second year in a row. On, Saturday, December 19th, the young man renown for living his passion and fulfilling his purpose to Stomp Out World Hunger, again took to task of making sure some of Miami-Dade’s most needy were treated to a holiday experience they won’t soon forget. With the assistance from the commissioner’s office and the support of sponsors, Unilever, Generation On, Hasbro, Walgreen’s, Spark Social Florals and Cupcakes by Carlotta, the JHF team was able to provide a family day of love and support for these deserving families. Additionally, Page by Page Project led by JHF team member Suria collected and distributed 300 books to all the children in attendance.

With a 100 families scheduled to attend, the district 2 team brought their workers in to assist the JHF team with set up and execution of the event which was held at the Arcola Lakes Park Community Center. Families were treated to a 3 course meal which included the following:


Light refreshments
Cupcakes
Water & Juices

Salad
Green Salad – Romaine Lettuce, Mixed Greens, Cucumber, Tomatoes

Main Course
Herb Roasted Chicken and Honey Baked Ham served with garlic mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, candied yams and a vegetable medley

Dessert
Ice Cream

… “All of the delectable eats were prepared with love through the undying commitment of Chef David Stample. Chef David and his volunteers, worked tirelessly to prep the meal on Friday evening and rose early Saturday morning to ensure the meal was delivered on time and ready to tickle the palate of all the guests”, said Joshua Williams.

Food preparation was made possible from the in-kind donation of commercial kitchen space by Chef Dea and Chef Jorge of Gourmet Research & Commissary Support in Dania Beach. Toys for all the children were donated by Generation On Joy Maker in conjunction with Hasbro Toys, Joshua’s Heart Foundation, Walgreen’s Pharmacy and the Office of Commissioner Monestime. “We appreciate the efforts and donations of all our sponsors in order to make this event possible”, added Joshua. He continued, “The commitment to Joshua’s Heart on the part of Unilever is unprecedented; it is a value I cannot put a price on. This would not be possible without their support and partnership. Additionally, we are very grateful for Commissioner Monestine’s commitment to community betterment, it is a commendable show of responsible governing from a member of our elected officials”.
