Industry Leaders Michelle O’Connor and David Fortanbary Expand LTEN Leadership Roles

ROANOKE, Va. - Dec. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Roanoke, VA, December 15, 2015 - Michelle O’Connor and David Fortanbary, two veteran life sciences training leaders, have taken on new leadership positions on the LTEN Board of Directors. O’Connor, the president and CEO of CMR Institute (http://www.cmrinstitute.org/cmri/), has joined the LTEN Board. Fortanbary, head of U.S. commercial learning for UCB, Inc. (http://www.ucb-usa.com/Home), has been named an LTEN Board vice president and member of the Executive Committee.

The LTEN Board of Directors (http://www.l-ten.org/?page=Board_of_Directors) is made up of life sciences training leaders who oversee all LTEN operations, events and publications, as they guide and manage the organization. The Executive Committee is comprised of Board officers, including the current and past presidents, who take on enhanced leadership and decision-making roles for the Board.

Fortanbary is an accomplished business leader who brings to the Executive Committee more than over 29 years of management, sales, market access and operational experience in the life science and biopharma industry, with companies including UCB and Bristol-Myers Squibb. At UCB, Fortanbary created the company’s first set of training standards and guidelines, and has also overseen the creation of a new centralized learning function.

O’Connor comes to the Board of Directors from the LTEN Advisory Council, a group of business
leaders that support and help operationalize Board initiatives and programs. She brings more than 20 years of experience in life sciences—strongly focused on improving learning outcomes, continuing collaborative dialogue, and building deeper relationships between the industry and the larger healthcare community. O’Connor stays further connected through her active membership in the Healthcare Business Women’s Association (HBA), as well as her board participation for organizations including the Virginia Tech Center for Instructional Technology Solutions in Industry and Education and Junior Achievement.
